Presentation

Built with regularity and sobriety, the château Fombrauge kept a sacred look due to its religious past as a Carthusian monastery. Its vineyard grows since the XVIth century. Its history is linked to 3 families: the Canolle, the Dumas, and the Taffard who created and developped the domaine. The Cru get the gold medal during Paris World's Fair of 1867.
When Bernard Magrez bought Fombrauge in 1999, new horizons for the estate-grow came to life: he brought the rigor of his knowledge to the quality of the product.
In septembre 2012, the castle became grand cru classé saint-Emilion, honoring the real and basic job for the enhancement of the vineyard.

The château Fombrauge, now, opens the door of its prestigious and private rooms.

You will find two suites in the castle.

- The Cadran suite
Authentic and immortal, the suite kept all the charms of its distant past. Standing on the varnished parquet floor, the four-poster bed, the seats and the chests of drawers date from the former owners of the castle. Brighting and remarkable, the suite, covered with purple and carmin red tissues, perpetues its history through the bucolic scenes of a toile de Jouy.
The surprising bathroom, fully restaured, presents on the red floor tile a bath in an antique style with a brighting ename.

Attractive and prestigious, this flowery suite presents Louis XV charms. The mantelpiece in pink marble melts into spring tones steeped in sunlight.
This poetic charm continues in the following parlor. Red velour armchairs and sofas set the tone for tea party, lecture or exchanges between friends. Large bathroom, firmly modern.
